Pastor Jon Choi (Lead Pastor) has been serving at Global
Harvest Church since 1996 as College Pastor and Associate
Pastor. He became the Lead Pastor in 2002. He received
a B.S. in Industrial Technology from San Jose State University
and a Master of Divinity (1997) and a Ph.D. in Old Testament
(2005) from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary
(The title of his dissertation: The Significance of Narrative
Interruptions in the Patriarchal History).
His additional studies include 1 year at Fuller Theological
Seminary, CA (1992) and 2 years at Christ For The Nations
Institute, TX (1990-1992). Along with pastoral responsibilities,
Pastor Jon teaches at Dallas Baptist University as an
adjunct professor. He is also a board member of KBEMF
(Korean Baptist English Ministers Fellowship) and JAMA
(Jesus Awakening Movement in America).
Praising God through music is one of his passions/dreams
and he has toured, as a guitarist, with praise bands
such as Living Praise (Christ For The Nations), Proclaim,
and now with Eight Hour Shift (EHS), an alternative
rock band. You can check out EHS here: http://www.soundclick.com/ehs.
One of his favorite quotes is, "Our greatest glory
is not in never falling, but in rising each time we
fall" (Oliver Goldsmith). His childhood dream was
to be either an inventor or CIA agent. Luckily, they
never fell through. He is married to his beautiful wife
Janet (1993) and have two beautiful daughters, Danielle
and Andrea. Email: jon.choi@ghcdallas.org.

Jae Kang (Sr. Associate Pastor) is hooked on coffee from
Dunn Bros. coffee and has probably been the one to help
them stay in business. His favorite color is yellow, but
I hope his teeth don't turn that color from all the caffeine.
He also loves big perms, like the one he had in college,
sushi, golfing, and biking. He has two lovely daughters,
Erica and Mindy and is married to Jinny. He holds a BA
in Music-Voice Performance and a M.Div with Biblical Language
and a Masters in Church Music from Southwestern Baptist
Theological Seminary.
Pastor Jae currently heads GHC Praise & Worship
as well as the College & Singles Group. He currently
has a couple of CDs out. Click on the album cover (right)
to hear samples from his One Day CD. If you would like
to purchase a copy, you can probably get an autographed
copy from him.
He has a passion to bring people into God's presence
through worship and relationship building. His favorite
book is Bruchko by Bruce Olson because the story illustrates
how one can witness God's amazing love toward His beloved
children through an obedient servant. Email: jae.kang@ghcdallas.org

Robert O. Childers III (Associate Pastor, Youth and Admin)
is half Japanese, loves sushi, and was born in Louisiana;
quite an interesting combo. He is married to Myra and
in 2009 they were blessed with a son, Ollie. Being the
oldest son of two boys, he has a strong will. He shares
that as a kid, when his parents would ground him, he would
have to stay in his room for 2 weeks! Out of defiance,
he would sit in the hallway (right outside his door) and
read the encyclopedia! He thought that he showed them
off.
Pastor Rob acquired his burnt orange blood when studying
at UT Austin for his B.S. in Chemical Engineering with
a concentration in Biochemical and Biomedical Engineering.
He worked as a semiconductor engineer for 5 years, including
3 years at Texas Instruments here in Dallas. Heeding God's
calling into ministry, Pastor Rob studied at Southwestern
Baptist Theological Seminary and received an Masters of
Divinity. With an engineering and natural science background,
P. Rob has a great interest in the relationship between
Science and Faith, especially the debate between Darwinists
and Intelligent Design advocates.
When Pastor Rob can't be found at church or watching
UT football with his new best buddy Ollie, he just might
be out fishing in one of the parks at Grapevine Lake.
