I've come to Sunday Service. Now what?
What's the next step for getting connected at GHC? We believe
the answer lies in Small Group Fellowships, which meet during
week. You can find more information about the small groups by
clicking here.
Small Groups are a great place to meet with groups of like-minded
people for fellowship, worship, prayer, encouragement, and
support. All fellowships are under the leadership of dedicated
lay leaders, who are committed to following Jesus Christ.
The groups frequently meet for activities away from the church
and join in opportunities for service. People who get involved
in the small groups quickly become a part of the heartbeat
of GHC.
Can you help me become a Christian?
The Good News is that God sent His only Son, Jesus Christ,
to deliver us from our sins. The Bible clearly says that all
are sinners (Romans 3:23) and that the wages of sin is death
(Romans 6:23a), because God is holy and a holy God punishes
sin. And the punishment for sin against an eternal God is
an eternal punishment, and so eternal death.
However, God does not want people to die forever but to be
saved. Therefore, He sent His own Son, Jesus Christ, to take
the punishment of our sins upon Himself. The Bible teaches
us, "God demonstrates His love toward us in that while
we were still sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8).
Christ died for our sins. But unlike us, He did not remain
dead, because death could not hold the Son of God. He defeated
death and rose again on the third day, and is now at the right
hand of God.
The Bible says that if we believe that Christ died for our
sins and rose again, we are saved. John 3:16 teaches us, "God
so loved the world that He gave His only Son, that whosoever
believes in Him will not perish but have everlasting life."
