updated message from pastor David
Hi GHC family!
As you know, the leadership team here at Global Harvest have been following and watching closely the new developments in COVID-19 cases. We have been praying and seeking God’s counsel for direction in terms of opening the church and how we might do this while keeping our people safe. As you know, the state of Texas now requires everyone to wear a face mask, which tells us that the threat has only gone up.
We will continue to talk to medical professionals, carefully follow the CDC and state regulations as we plan and prepare for the safest way to open our church back up again. With the increase in COVID-19 cases, we want to ensure that when we open back up, that it will be done in the safest way possible. As believers, we are not motivated by fear but by love and compassion for the most vulnerable.
As this situation continues, we will do our best to keep you all updated with what is going on. In the meantime, there are a few ways you can help us and each other.
First, let’s PRAY. The church has been praying at 7:14pm each and every day in alignment with 2 Chronicles 7:14 (set your alarm if you haven’t already). Let’s pray for our nation, our city, our people, our leaders and our own hearts. Let’s pray for repentance, humility and for healing.
Second, let’s SERVE. Due to the virus, there are a lot of things that seem to roadblock us and the temptation’s there to get frustrated in what we can’t do. But the more we pray and look around, God is awakening our church to the things we CAN do. Whether connecting through our Missions Committee for outreaches or simply serving our neighbors without endangering them, we are called to serve with compassion and boldness. Please find ways to serve your church, your community and those in need.
Third, let’s GIVE. We are called to be faithful in our giving. Financial stewardship is just as important for our spiritual growth and commitment to our church as any other act of service. If you haven’t signed up online, please do so at www.ghcdallas.org or the Church Center App. You can also donate towards our benevolence fund where every dollar goes to serve people who have been financially hit due to the pandemic.
Finally, let’s CONNECT. The quarantine has been difficult for many but through our Home Groups ministry, NxtGen Ministry, Connect Gathering and virtual Sunday services we’re able to stay in fellowship with each other and remain faithful in our worship to the Lord.
Though we miss you all, we know that we worship a sovereign God who is forever faithful, so please be encouraged, be safe and we hope to see you all soon.
With Grace and Peace,
